Great Flavour

Fabulous tea. Great flavour. And naturally no caffeine. Buy all my tea's from Tugboat. Very friendly and helpful.

Surprising

Very pleasantly tasty. Always a wee bit 'nervous' when camomile is mentioned but the balance of the flavours are perfect, :)

Lovely light and refreshing tea

This was the first time I have ventured into the realm of white tea...and I love it. It is particularly refreshing drunk when not too hot with a sprig of fresh mint. Just right for the current heatwave!

Cornish Dark

We loved the chocolatey taste….but Mondo Novo remains our clear favourite and is the only reason I rated the Cornish Dark a 4, and not a 5.

Great teas delivered quickly and with a lovely hand written note. Many thanks.

Delicious

Really lovely florentines, chewy & gorgeous but for me a little too much chocolate.

Happiness in a mug

First time I've used the delivery service and would definitely recommend it if you can't get into the shop. The coffee never disappoints.

I have this morning enjoyed a wonderful cup of coffee thanks to my Optician. I arrived for my appointment and was greeted with a cup of Italian Roast coffee, it was delightful and now ordering some.

‘Ansum roast

Drink volumes of it

Another great tea from Tugboat

Got this as a sample pack, such a great refreshing tea which I enjoy hot or cold as an iced tea

Fantastic

Lovely and refreshing, not "over scented" and delicious even when cold.

Love this roast

Orange Pekoe

My favourite tea, light and just perfect for an afternoon cuppa with a biscuit or slice of cake . It never disappoints ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth a go

I'm a fan of these and use them with cow's milk and oat milk. Sweet but not so sweet your teeth sting and you can taste the sounds. Milk of choice for 90seconds to 2 mins in the microwave and stir in. Job done.

SCRUMPTIOUS

I actually prefer the milk chocolate version

Delicious!

Love the afternoon tea - just right with a hint of floral notes! Very refreshing. The blood orange tea is great too - nice for the evening if you don't want any caffeine. And thanks for the little extra taster - we've yet to try. 😊

Very mild coffee

When I received my Monsoon malabar beans, I was suprised at the pale colour of the beans. I am used to dark, shiny beans from my usual supplier so I wasn't sure what to expect. Made my coffee in the usual way and was somewhat disappointed by its lack of body. Maybe I need to change the brewing technique... Expectation is 80% of perceived taste, I suspect. I have changed back to another coffee available on supermarket shelf until I find a solution to this.

It sounds like you’ve encountered the unique personality of the Monsoon Malabar! You hit the nail on the head regarding expectations—this coffee is a bit of a 'rebel' compared to standard dark roasts.
Here is a breakdown of why those beans look and taste different, along with a few tips to help you get the most out of them:
The Pale Colour: Unlike most beans that turn dark and oily through heavy roasting, Monsoon Malabar gets its pale, straw-like colour from the 'monsooning' process. The beans are exposed to moisture-laden winds for months, which causes them to swell and lose density. Even when roasted, they rarely look 'dark and shiny.'
The Body & Taste: This coffee is famous for being exceptionally low in acidity with a mellow, earthy, and spicy profile. Because it’s less dense than other beans, it can feel 'thinner' or lack that punchy 'body' if brewed with your standard ratio.
Brewing Tip: Since these beans are more porous, try increasing your coffee-to-water ratio (use a bit more coffee than usual) or slightly fining up your grind. This can help extract more of those heavy, syrupy notes you might be missing.
It’s definitely an acquired taste and worlds away from a classic supermarket roast, but it’s a favourite for those who love a smooth, 'soft' cup.
Would you like some specific grind recommendations based on the brew method you're using?
Regards
Sara

Always a perfect cup from Tugboat

We absolutely love our coffee from Tugboat. We tend to order online as we can’t always make it into the shop, but when we do, it’s always a pleasure - such a warm welcome from the team every time. The coffee is always spot on too - smooth, flavourful, and just what I need in the monring!

My Afternoon brew.

Rukeri has become my favourite late afternoon brew.
It's more distinctive taste and cleaner palate is just right at this time of day.
Good stuff.

Perfect

I always consider the custom house blend to be my go to coffee, and when I try the others, I think they are never quite as good. But actually this one is. It’s a different style but it’s just as good.
